Providing Meaningful Work For Your Team

People express the most interest and engagement when they find meaningful work. For many, this involves doing work that can create a positive impact. People are attracted to jobs that implement the value of working to make the world a better place. Employees who believe they are impacting society are found to be happier and therefore more productive since they have the motivation to do so.
According to a study in MIT Sloan Management Review interviewing 135 people in 10 different job fields, the quality of a job’s leadership showed virtually no correlation to an employee’s description of meaningful moments at work. Therefore, no matter how admirable or hard-working a leader can be, employees need to first find purpose in order to truly appreciate their jobs.
